Liquid Oxygen [ Return towards  Homecare equipment  ]

The FREELOX way of treatment provides oxygen based on the prescription of the curring doctor for a specified minimum daily time period.  (lit/minute for hours/day).

It consists from a main and a portable cylinder, which is filled by the main cylinder when there is the need for the patients transfer or moving.  The main cylinder is an easy to use device with wheels, that can take 32 lit of oxygen minimum, with a diameter of  36.6cm, 82.0cm high και 55kg weight when it is full. It contains approximately 27m³ of gaseous oxygen of more than 99,99% purity, independently of the flow rate (possibility of high rate of flow*).  

It has a press reliefer, a flow meter and a humidifier.  The portable cylinder weights 3,5 kg (when it is full) and can take up to 1,2 lit of oxygen.  It is filled from the main cylinder within 1 min with a flow rate of 2 lit/min and supports the patient for 6,5 hours, depending on the flow rate.  That's why the Freelox way of treatment is high recommended for patients with the need to move around, inside or outside the house.         

*Taking into consideration the basic oxygentherapie with a flow rate of 3lt/min for 20 h/day, within a month the patient will need 108m³ gaseous oxygen, equivelent to 27lt liquid oxygen, that's to say 4 refills per month.
