A nebulizer is a device used to administer medication to people in the form of a mist inhaled into the lungs and is prescribed by the curring doctor.  It has a tube like mouth piece and a face mask.  By using the mask there is no need to cyncronize the patient's breathing with the device's operation.

A criteria for the choice of the right nebulizer is the nebulizing time (an efficient device nebulizes 2,5 ml of a medicin in less than 6 min), as well as the volume of the medication inhaled (the bigger quantity, the smaller the diameter of the microbubbles, the larger volume of the medicin arrives at the patient's brochoiles)

It is very important that the patients are trained to the correct use of the nebulizers for the right treatment.  For example in case of an asthma, if the medicin does not arrive to the patients lungs then the symptoms are not relaxed.   Furthermore there is the risk for the medicin to be trapped into the mouth, thus creating side effects rather than treating the patient's asthma.

Porta-neb®  is ideal for  treating cystic fibrosis, asthma, chronic bronchytis, COPD, pneumonia, allergic rhinitis, larynchitis.  By the use of a nebulizer the medicin arrives directly to the bronchoils with the form of micro bubbles, 80% of which is smaller than 5 microns! The humidification vials are for multiple uses.  The have to be regularly sterilized either in clavables or simply by boiling them.

• a tube like mouth piece

• plastic cable connecting the vial with the compressor
