Air Liquide was established in Greece on 5th June 1909, under the name of “The Oxygene AEBA” by constructing an oxygen and acetylene production unit in the Southern
Athenian suburb of Faliro. Today, 100 years later, Air Liquide Hellas operates 3 primary production units, 3 filling centers, offices in Athens and Thessaloniki and 3 heathcare patients service stores in Athens, Thessaloniki and Ioannina. Air Liquide Hellas was born and raised during the 20th century, closely keeping up with all the technological developments, while initiating some of them with patented innovations that apply to the industrial sector.
In view of the 100 celebration of Air Liquide Hellas, Stefan Neubauer, Managing Director of the Group in Greece and Air Liquide’s Director of the South-Eastern Europe, announced: «We are oriented towards creating for each client a total offer. Air Liquide is active in Greece since 1909. It operates 5 industrial sites. One in Aspropyrgos, (gas & mixtures filling center), one in Tanagra (Liquiide oxygen, Nitrogen & Argon production, one in Florina (carbon dioxide & dry ice production) and two in Thessaloniki (Liquide Oxygen, & Nitrogen, Gas & mixtures filling center, Hydrogen filling center).
Air Liquide Hellas is ISO 9001: 2000 certified for all its sites and activities. Aspropyrgos’ and Florina’s sites are ISO 14001 certified for environmental management. .
Air Liquide Hellas is as well ISO 22000 (HACCP) for the production of liquefied gases for the food and beverage industries.
The Healthcare sector of Air Liquide Hellas provides medical gases and the relevant equipment as well as services to hospitals, and is active in the homecare sector through its subsidiary VitalAire, both being ISO 13485 and ΔΥ/1348/2004 certified.
